The second annual Celebration of Faith was held October 12, 2013 at the Yakima Convention Center. The purpose was two-fold: First, to raise funds to support Catholic education in Central Washington (Catholic schools and parish religious education programs). Second, to honor the 2013 Champions of Catholic Education. These wonderful people are exemplary models of Catholic stewardship of time, talent and treasure as they have poured their hearts and lives into providing Catholic education in our parishes and schools.

The keynote speaker was Fr. Joe Copora, CSC, director of Notre Dame's ACE program and author of "To Nurture the Soul of a Nation". Other speakers included Jeff Charbonneau, National Teacher of the Year, Bishop Joseph Tyson, and Mary Lindquist Herche, Vice Chair of Gonzaga University Board of Regents. Masters of Cememonies were Benjamin Record, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, and Cassie Riel, La Salle High School senior.

The event raised over $200,000. Part of the proceeds are designated for tuition assistance for current recipients and new students who will be enrolling in our eight Catholic schools in Central Washington for the 2014-15 academic year. The application process began January 6, 2014. Additional proceeds are designated for grants to parishes to support their RE/RCIA programs. That process also started on January 6, 2014.
