Learn more about Legacy Estate Gifts, the purpose and the benefits that your generosity provides.
The Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Legacy of Faith (LOF) Society. The LOF Society is intended to recognize and perpetually remember individuals who have made substantial commitments to supporting the parishes, schools, and ministries through the Foundation and to inspire others to do the same. When you confirm a future gift to the Foundation, we will welcome you as a member of the LOF Society.
Leaving a gift in your will or estate plan to the Catholic Foundation typically costs you nothing today, but will provide perpetual financial support for the Catholic organizations you love. With your help, and with Christ as our guide, the Foundation will continue to be a resource for the future of our Faith and our Diocese.
Help sustain the Central Washington faith community forever through:
- Last Will and Testament
- Beneficiary designation
- Securities (stocks or mutual funds)
- IRA or Required Minimum Distribution
- Life insurance
- Real estate
- Other marketable assets
A bequest may be the most tangible way to enduringly impact the organizations meaningful to you:
- Written into a will or trust
- Directs a gift to a qualified exempt charity
- May effectively lessen the tax burden on your family and estate
Suggested wording to share with your attorney:
“I give to Central Washington Catholic Foundation, Tax Identification Number 33-1022610, currently located at 5301 Tieton Drive, Suite F, Yakima, Washington 98908 [choose one: the sum of $___/the following particular asset(s) ___/all (or a certain percentage) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate (or the assets of this trust)] to be used for the accomplishment of its general purposes (or for a specific purpose as described).”
As part of your estate plans, with a minimum of $25,000, you may establish a named Endowment Fund to benefit a parish, school, or other Catholic ministries in the Diocese of Yakima. Or, you may contribute an already existing endowment with any gift amount. Endowment Funds are permanently restricted funds managed by the Foundation to ensure growth, protection into perpetuity, and annual distributions. Earnings are distributed in preservation of the donor’s designated purpose
The principal for each endowment fund is protected forever, so each fund perpetually supports its intended purpose.

In following her call to action, we join St. Teresa of Calcutta as she says, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” On behalf of all those whose lives you have touched and will touch in the future, I thank you for your generous commitment to sharing faith and building the Kingdom.
