People often ask Robert Thompson, owner of Vintners Logistics, “What is Vintners Logistics? What do you do?” His answer is simple: he does the same thing he has done since childhood, put puzzles together.

Robert has always enjoyed solving challenges and bringing different pieces together to create a complete picture. Throughout his career, those “pictures” have grown larger and more complex, but the excitement of finding solutions has remained the same. After spending 18 years with Morgan Distributing, Mt. Hood Beverage, and Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, he combined his extensive winery logistics experience, formal education, strong family support, and faith to launch Vintners Logistics in 2007. Since then, the company has provided warehousing and transportation services tailored to the wine industry, building a reputation for developing and executing effective processes that meet customers’ unique needs.

As a servant leader, Robert is committed to serving his employees, customers, community, and industry. He takes great pride in creating opportunities for employees to provide for their families while helping Vintners Logistics customers achieve success. Guiding people, solving problems, and building lasting relationships continue to be among the most rewarding aspects of his work.

Raised in Woodburn, Oregon, Robert married his high school sweetheart in 1987. Their story began even earlier, born just one day apart, their mothers even shared a hospital room. Robert often jokes that it was love at first sight, and he knew by the fifth grade that he wanted to marry her. As his career progressed, the family relocated to Kennewick, Washington, where Robert continued to advance his business and eventually started his own business.

In 2022, Robert and his wife moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, while continuing to split time between Woodburn and Kennewick during the summer months to care for grandchildren and aging parents. Family remains at the center of their lives. They have two adult sons, two biological grandchildren, a grandson and granddaughter, and three additional grandchildren whom they have welcomed into their hearts and home. Inspired in part by Father Davis’s encouragement to open one’s heart and home to those in need, Robert and his wife have embraced the opportunity to support and care for others. Today, all five of their grandchildren attend St. Joseph School, a source of great pride and joy for the family.
