Introducing Katie Harnetiaux, Co-Founder & President of USL Spokane and former Amazon and Starbucks Executive

Katie Harnetiaux, former Amazon Head of North America Retail Marketing, is a visionary global business leader now bringing her expertise and passion to her role as President of USL Spokane. She is most recognized for building impactful brands and leading high-performing teams, she combines business excellence with a deep commitment to community, equity, and purpose.
During her time at Amazon, Katie held multiple senior leadership roles, including leading North America Stores Marketing as well as the Sports & Outdoors and Global Handmade businesses. She drove significant growth by creating innovative customer experiences across digital, social, mobile, and retail channels. Earlier in her career, she built a strong foundation in brand and retail marketing through leadership roles at Starbucks and within agency environments.
Today, Katie is channeling that experience into shaping something even greater. As Founder, Co-Owner, and President of USL Spokane—and a Principal of Aequus Sports—she is leading the organization across all facets of its operations. Her vision extends beyond the field: she is focused on building a world-class soccer organization that strengthens community partnerships, expands fan engagement, creates new opportunities for athletes, and drives meaningful economic and cultural impact in Spokane.
“Soccer is the world’s game, and Spokane is playing a critical role in shifting the landscape,” Katie shares. “I am proud to be from Spokane, represent Spokane, and now be a part of this team.”
Under her leadership, USL Spokane is emerging as more than a sports organization—it is a platform for equity, inspiration, and change. From the opening of ONE Spokane Stadium to the growing excitement surrounding Spokane’s professional teams, Katie is helping to position the city as a national leader in the future of soccer.
Beyond her professional achievements, Katie serves on several boards and is a sought-after speaker, inspiring others to lead with authenticity and courage. Above all, she is most proud of her role as a mother of three—grounding her leadership in purpose, perspective, and possibility.
With her entrepreneurial spirit, strong Catholic faith, and bold vision, Katie Harnetiaux is not only building a successful organization—she is helping redefine what leadership and impact can look like, both in sport and in society.
